Chief Financial Officer

Position Overview: 

The Chief Financial Officer position will be reporting to the CEO. The CFO is responsible for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.


  • Assist in formulating the company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
  • Develop financial and tax strategies
  • Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
  • Develop key performance indicator measurements for key personnel and oversee monitoring
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
  • Manage the accounting department with Controller and key reporting personnel to the Controller
  • Implement operational best practices
  • Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
  • Oversee the issuance of accurate financial information and financial reporting.
  • Ensuring proper cost reporting systems in place as well as reliable process for monitoring estimated costs on projects and proper revenue recognition.
  • Report financial results to the board of directors
  • Help analyze options and implement new financial reporting system
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile
  • Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
  • Construct and monitor reliable control systems throughout the organization
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage as well as bonding coverage
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, including proper reporting and licensing in all states in which the business performs work.
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
  • Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
  • Preparing annual financial budgets, CAPEX budgets and cash flow forecasts
  • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to the Senior
  • Management Team
  • Maintain banking relationships
  • Maintain relationships with key insurance and bonding partners
  • Maintain relationships with key legal partners

Desired Qualifications: 

The candidate for Chief Financial Officer should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Ideally candidate has experience working in public accounting and in the construction industry and has a minimum of 12 years combined experience. Ideally this person should have experience in partnering with or reporting to an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance and/or Certified Public Accountants.

Director of Human Resources

The Director of Human Resources will report to the CEO/PRESIDENT, and is responsible for implementing HR policies & programs and managing all aspects of employee relations and development. Our Director of HR will manage staffing and recruiting, organizational development, performance management, training, compensation & benefits administration, and employee counseling services. The ideal candidate will be resourceful and have excellent communication and leadership skills.
*Ensure job descriptions for all positions are in place, accurate and up to date.
*Evaluate the administrative positions currently offered by the company and advise management on the need for creating new positions.
*Be knowledgeable of the HR laws in the states where the company conducts business and the states in which employees are hired from.
*Conduct performance reviews with area Superintendents and monitor employee productivity, attitude, and performance results.
*Ensure that all company policies are being enforced and followed.
*Be creative in coming up with new incentives for employee recruitment and retention based on the profitability and work load of the company.
*Work with the company Safety Director to ensure compliance with drug testing procedures, documentation of safety and policy violations, and training records.
*Provide Assistance in ensuring all vacation time, PTO days, absences (excused and unexcused) bereavement, maternity leave, days are properly tracked and recorded in employee files.
*Recruit, conduct interviews and retain top quality staff for each department.
*Employee counseling services for personnel issues and company complaints.
*Create organizational development and employee training programs..
*Provide assistance with implementing any HR related software systems.
*Implement HR policies and programs as required by the business.
*Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasize quality, continuous improvement, teamwork, and high performance.
*Administrate company benefit plans
